How many times have you heard an interview where a Pro discuss previous unsuccessful fishing during a tournament and then say they got better but "Just Went Fishing".  I am wondering if this is an admission of overthinking the process or is it something else like I give up and am just gonna spend the day fishing without worrying about the result.  Lets hear your take on this question.

some might suggest that at least HALF the fun of all this IS the over-thinking, attention to detail...  the OBSESSION... ~shade

short posts are great.  that being said, I also REALLY appreciate it when a poster takes the time to really dig into the 'why' behind the what.

having followed Bud for a bit now... and thinking of a recent 'vero' trip that was shared... I don't think it's possible for Bud to over-think a trip.  I suspect that he, like me, gets a tremendous amount of enjoyment of the entire process... it's not just about the actual time on the water, although that IS the pay-off...

There is a difference between over thinking and paying attention to details, paying attention to details means knots done right, bait rigged correctly, worms strait on the hooks, cranks running strait and true, hooks sharp, etc. Over thinking would be whatever starts you jumping from spot to spot, constantly thinking something or somewhere else or a different rigging is the way to go instead of concentrating on what you are now doing.
