Fished from 1115 to 1730. Had 2 bites and caught 1 bass. Well technically 4 bites but 2 ea from the same bass. Whopper plopper along the shady reed edges was all that worked. And you had to be super annoying with it! Took 10+ casts to get any response and then follow up casts to get another. The one I didn't land made 2 monster swirls on it and with 6 hooks I'm not sure how it missed?!?!

I tried- carolina rigs. Cranks of all types. Wacky rig senkos. Texas rigged stuff. Rattle traps.

Also brought my waders after unpacking em but they leaked. Actually felt really really good though as it was 106° or so today. Def let me access more of the water instead of being hemmed in by shoreline reeds.

Enjoyed seeing hawks and dragonflies and lizards and small bream and bass fry. Stayed hydrated and used the shade from trees when not wading.

Was also the first time being checked by California fish and wildlife. Heck I hadn't even seen them on base before. Guy was out of San Diego and very nice.

Man I miss the reeds of California. Used to be able to flip them and smoke a bunch of fish. Congrats one getting a few bites.
