For use in a kayak, would the champion 635 cb work for 1/4 swim jigs?

I would think so just fine. That 5 power is solid and being the cb rod you have more of a load up.

Even though it being a 5 power, it's still a CB power and moderate action. You can easily compensate for that by running braid.  That would work nicely.
