What's the major differences between the Fury, the Maverick and the Colt? I remember when I bought all my Fury's they were between $100 - $109 that was when they were the bottom series. Since then the Colt came out at $79 but the Fury's stayed the same price but since they have gone up in price by $20 and now we know why as the new Maverick series just came out. I'm just trying to justify sticking with the Fury over the other two if it's the same rod as when I bought mine just with a $20 price tag increase?
The only stupid question is the one you don't ask!

Price is all about parts and shipping costs. It's a new world since the C-19...

The blanks are still the same. Even the components, cork, real seat, guides, are the same it all just costs a little more now.

Okay, so what are the main differences between those 3 series? obviously compo9nents but are the components leaps and bounds better or just marginally?

I reckon that's personal preference in some aspects. Sea Guides, cork versus EVA grips, I think all three have EVA butts... I can't remember, it's been a while since I've had a Fury, but don't they have Fugi guides?

If you're asking is a Fury worth $30 more than a Maverick or a Maverick $20 more than a Colt, or a Fury $50 more than a Colt? Well I wish you could put them all in your hands to try out.

I do know that, thanks to Gary, we give away a colt series rod to every angler that fishes our Reelin For the Kids tournament. And the feedback is amazing. Everyone loves them.

Yes, the Fury's have the fuji guides, fuji reel seat too I believe and an eva butt section with a cork grip section.

Member Dink Dawg has a few of the Mavericks. I don't know if he has any Colts but I'm pretty sure he also has some of the Furys.

If he doesn't reply here I would suggest sending him a PM as he can give you a hands on comparison.

Surprise surprise.  Just read this dialogue. I'll tell you what I know.

The Fury series has a cork main grip and EVA butt.  Fuji reel seat but the guides are not listed as Fuji and my recollection is they are Sea Guides. I know Gary tested them thoroughly before approving them.  They are far better quality than PAC Bay.

The blanks are each made of their own proprietary materials. Gary doesn't scrimp on the blanks.  The Fury and Maverick have Kevlar wrapping. The Mav and Colt have all EVA grips.  The Colt has an element of glass in the blank.  The Mavs are all graphite utilizing Mitsubishi materials.  Remember cork is insanely expensive.

For those who fish often on a budget the Mavs are a heck of a value.  The actions and balance are so close to Fury.  The Fury has an edge on sensitivity but the Mavs are right there.  One of the goals was to provide a combo with the new reels.

I can say with certainty the jump from Colt to Mavericks is easily worth the addition in cost. The difference from Maverick to Fury  is a a bit narrower.  For moving baits the Mavs are really one fantastic  value.  If you want to maximize sensitivity, bump to a Fury.  If I could have has Mavericks just ten years ago, I would have been in heaven.  Gary did a wonderful job in keeping such quality and performance at a hundred bucks.  But boy do I dig the Kadens!!!!
