Ya ever have on of them nights where you crash hard as soon as you hit the pillow for about an hour or two hours and then can't go back to sleep.....that's what happened to me last night
Got to our spot this mornin' and we could see the fish were there. My buddy caught a 2-2.5 pounder on this particular topwater bait. They didn't want anything else. The other boy on the boat had one on a soft plastic and it came unbuttoned. My buddy missed 4 fish on that dang topwater. We motored down to some pads, and as we were motoring down the trim on the motor wouldn't go down. So I shut the motor off, trim up, fiddle with the trim, and it goes down. Go to flippin, and I break 50 lb Power Pro AGAIN! (It's comin' off, I had a palomar, and everything) My buddy broke off on 50 lb PP also  So we pick up and head down river near the 46 ramp, was showing the boy on our boat the river and going to fish a few spots I know of. Motor won't trim down again. So we start fiddlin' with it, NOTHIN!  So we just start fishin' and I look towards Monroe and see the clouds and I say we gotta git this thing rollin'. So my buddy calls his dad to tell him the problem with his motor (that at this time won't turn over either). So we Start trollin' around as he is tryin' to fix the motor and I have one hit a bait, and break it in half  So we try everything, and nothin' works. So we gotta call his mom, have her come pick one of us up, go back to the ramp, pick up the trailer, and come back. So we start fiddlin' again and the trim works. We start messin' with the motor again and.....it starts POURIN' rain! We go tie up under the dang bridge, and I start messin' with cables and shakin' and stuff and nothin' works. So I call up a buddy of mine who used to be a mechanic to see if he can help us....as I get him on the phone the motor starts, so I hang up with him and we haul tail end back to Monroe. We come around the river bend and see Monroe and all we see is a black/gray wall of rain. I say.....AW CRAP (to put it nicely  ) but we never got pounded with rain. I couldn't see across Monroe though, and our faces were stingin' from the light pelting rain.

It was just one of those days. If we hadn't had to fiddle with that dang motor we would have caught more. I mean I know we should have had atleast 4 bass in the boat, which we think were better fish. It's all coming together, we're just going to have to take our time.

Man, two guys breaking off on 50 pound Power Pro.   :'(  That's awful.  Was this a new spool you had on there, or the same one giving you problems before.

When you say it's coming off, does that mean the knot is coming untied, or breaking?

I think you are right Lip, as I reread it.   ~b~

I hear you Five, you can only break off so many times before you have to move on to something else...

FiveAlive

Yeah, this was the same one I had problems with, I tied a different knot and did some other things. I can only lost so many tungsten weights.

And after being pelted in the face with rain, I think I might invest in a dang motorcycle helmet lo

You got that Five, that rain sure can hurt when coming at you real fast.  I wear some sunglasses that are like a helmet because they cover half of my face.   :roll2:

In reference to the 50# PP - Me thinks you ought to lay off the weights at the gym, eat less Wheaties in the morning at breakfast, and have one less steak for dinner.  You don't look like the Incredible Hulk when you get angry do you? :roll2: ~roflmao

How can u break that u see how big I am and i have 50# pp too and I can yank as hard as I can with it and it has never broken on me. We might have the incredible hulk on our hands.

Naw dude, I'm about 6'-6'1" or so and about 170, I'm no Incredible Hulk, when I took the PP off I could snap it with my bare hands.

~rain Might want to look at the Fish Hedz mask.  I have one and at 73 mph the rain doesn't hurt at all. The first time I used one was during the 2006 BASS Classic when I went out with Skeet Reese. He had a extra mask that I used and after that, I had to buy one. Excellent investment.

FiveAlive

I've looked at the masks several times, but I've heard to many bad things to go with a Fish Hedz mask. I've got a place online I can buy a brand new full face helmet, and have it shipped for about $50, which is less than a FishHedz anyways.  ~shade

I haven't had any problem with mine. Yes, I have read were some people have had trouble with theirs, but I will take my chances with it. The only thing about a full helmet is storage space. Bottom line, your money money, your choice. Good luck on which ever one you choose.

FiveAlive

I'm going to try both out before I buy ~shade

I had the same problem with 50 pound PP.

FiveAlive
