The action picks up in the Everglades from now til early summer. On this particular outing the swimbait bite was on!! Enjoy!

Good stuff as usual Lou.

The tip about counting the bait down is so important. Something my dad actually taught me back in the day.

Lou, I noticed that you had quite a number of hooks that easily fell out of the fish's mouth.  What was that about.  Why do you think that was happening vs getting them stuck hard?

Thanks Jim. It's a useful technique that's for sure. This also serves as strike indicator, meaning if you know the drop count, and the line is acting differently prior to the count, more than likely there's a fish on your line already.

Good question Bud. It happens. As long as it happens once I lip the bass, then I'm good.  lo Seriously speaking however, its situational. Sometimes it can be due to casting distance, on this video 30+ yard casts were the norm due to the wind at my back. Solid hooksets at this distance can be challenging. Other times I'm reeling the swimbait at pretty good clip, and the bass strikes, and swims directly at me at high rate speed. If I don't pick up the slack fast enough the hookset is weak.

OK, thanks for clearing that up.  Wasn't sure if it was the hook itself for some other deal.  I do understand the situation.
