Trip #1 - Spring Bayou in Marksville.......water temps to start the day was 58 at daylight and up to 61 at time we left around noon.  Lost a good fish at boat on a chartreuse spinnerbait and another on a t-rig junebug red trick work.  Winds picked up and just let it blow us down bank while throwing a square bill.  Caught two in the dirt both full of eggs.

Trip #2 -  The wife had to go into work Saturday evening, so I made a quick trip to Red River in Pool #3 in oxbow behind Buhlow Lake.  Water seemed very low and temps were 62 and rather stained.  It was windy so I hit a few spots for a couple hours throwing a crawfish colored square bill.  Caught one fish close to 3lbs full of eggs.

Trip #3 - We decided to go to Cane River Sunday since it was warm and somewhat sunny.  It's an easier place to fish in the winds as well.  Water temps 61 with about 64 towards the end of the trip.  Caught one small fish on a T-rig Junebug Red Trick Work and another decent 3lber on a chartreuse spinnerbait.  Did have a few more slaps at the spinnerbait but no takers.  Pretty good wind Sunday afternoon.  First weekend to get on the water, so not a bad few trips to kickoff the year!

Lots of variety but seems like all the bass were up shallow ready to spawn! What were the water temps? Never thrown a straight chartreuse spinnerbait- were the blades yellow too?

coldest I saw was 58. warmest was 64.  Chartreuse skirt with silver blades.  These bodies of water are fairly stained.  I guess the water at Cane River is probably some of the clearest.
