Today is the 80 year anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Over 2000 service members and civilians lost their lives that day.

Said a prayer of thanks for their sacrifice and that this day will never be forgotten.

God Bless the U.S.A.

That was a bad day in our history.  Glad you mentioned it.

My Dad was stationed there right after the attack, before being shipped out to other Islands.  They were preparing for a full on assault on the islands.  He was a Navy Seabee, and passed away two years ago at 95.  He was so proud of his time serving, right up to the day he passed :(.

Mom and Dad lived on Maui along with my pesky sister. Dad taught school and was a Captain in the Army reserve, he was put on shore patrol, riding the shore at night on a horse looking for whatever could crop up. Mom was a plantation nurse, she received and cared for wounded. It wasn't a good time at all.

Definitely not a good time but it birthed the greatest generation of all time.
