Did you know that a bass that has been hooked is much bigger when in the water than it is when it is in the boat?  That makes sense when most bass that come unhooked are usually identified as 8 pounders.  LOL

Ice Cold Peanuts

There is some truth to that. At least in my mind. When a bass jumps, the mouth is open and the belly sags. They ALWAYS look bigger than when they come into the boat. This has often led to teasing because the other guy heard, "This is a beast" only to see a 2.5 come aboard. I seem to be on the short end of the teasing more often then not.

If only I could learn to shut up and wait.

one of my favorite lines has always been '...took a picture of that fish.  the picture weighed 7 pounds...'
guess something I've thought a little about through the years:  I'm greatful for the one's that got away... they grow bigger and bigger everytime I think about them...
seen some monsters in my efforts... pretty sure I've battled a few 10+ bass...  but the one that I would have sworn to the day I died was a 10 lber that I did get into the boat?

EIGHT POINT ZERO pounds.

being 'off' by 2 pounds is being 'not even a little bit close'.
