Fall is here.  Trees are starting 'the show'.

Air temps this morning:  67° just before sunrise.  what there was of it.  cloudy, rainy conditions.  rain rotated from NONE, to mist, to light sprinkles, to honest soaking rain... with a few downpours tossed in at random moments.  Most of the rain was of the 'soft' kind.  I could run around the lake at 30mph and it wouldn't sting my face. but I stayed put when the big drops came through.  of course, with the bigger rain, the wind would pick up.
wind speed was negligible for most of day, but with the heavier rain squalls would kick up to maybe 6 - 8 mph?  with direction (mostly out of the SW) there wasn't a lot of lake to catch wind and build heavy chop.  very few boats out and about.
water clarity was variable:  some areas were murky due to run-off.  other places were still pretty clear.

TVA was pulling 41000 cfs through Chickamauga dam.  Watts Bar (upstream) was at 36000 cfs.  I could see water levels 'fluctuating' as at times there would be a few inches over the grass mats and at other times not.
stayed focused on working grass lines.  places where what little wind was there was blowing in on grass...  this kept me on mainlake weed beds, but it was also productive to bounce into a few key coves to work the farther back areas.
a little depth off the weed lines was always a good thing.
a little more to the story for all you internet scouts...

lots of little keys in the photo.  one of which is this:  it was almost as wet 'out' of the water is it was 'in' the water.
boat is in the garage with the fan running...  always thankful for a tin boat that was built without a lick of wood in it.  much easier to work with...

That's some serious wet carpet...  :shocking:

The foliage is beautiful right now. Ours won't change until it's much closer to the point at which it falls off, it will change for a couple days and the drop all their leaves.
