coldfront

back out today trying to chase down some larger fish.  hung out around mats and tossed frogs, swimbaits.  long day, not a lot to show for it.  at the very end, had one 'show' and pulled a frog over her.  not large at all.  16.75 inches and with a huge hole in the bottom jaw from a cull tag.

over 20 fish made it over the side today.  most were spots with a few small LMB and one SMB.  fishing current swings.

Air temps at 7AM this morning were 51°F and 77°F when I trailered up at 4:30PM.  Water temps were 73°F.  down 3°F from yesterday.water clarity is improving, but still fairly murky.  a little over a foot of visibility.

Chickamauga was generating 36000 cfs steady through the day.  Nickajack was generating 28000 cfs up until 2pm when they ramped up to 41000 cfs.  Looks like I had slowly rising water levels for first part of the day with slight lowering last few hours.  would explain some of the schooling activity I saw on some of the bridges (to backwaters) as current picked up.
steady breeze from the north today at about 5-8mph.

Expected morning fog from the big air vs water temp differences.  Got it too.

Knew I wanted to bring along a jar of orange dye.  but of course left it home.  Might have helped with some of the bites.

This time of year bass can get so keyed on shad that I forget they will still eat a crawdad or bluegill... Especially those smallies...
