Our old guys fishing club is going to Engelbright later this month, so Kate and I went up there on Monday to see what was happening.  Englebirght, like the Afterbay is one of a couple of our local lakes that has decent water level.  It gets water flowing out of Bullards Bar Reservoir and warms the water before it is released into the Yuba river.  The lake had just come up about 1.5 feet the day before so the water temp had dropped some.  Temperature at the launch was 71 degrees, mid lake was 66-67 and way up river was only 48.  That was water that had come through the power plant and the base of Bullards Bar.  Water was gin clear, could see down 20 feet in some places.  We found some smallmouth on sandy banks.  Biggest one was a solid 2 pounder, a couple others around 13" and quite a few cute rats from 6-11".   We caught all our fish on Ned rigs, green pumpkin or mudbug.  Also tried drop shot, topwater popper, small keitech swimbaits and a spinnerbait.  Wind was mostly calm, picked up a little later in the morning.  No pictures this time.
I knew I shoulda re-tied!!

Thanks for the report Pat, I used to love going out to this one, it was just a couple minutes our the back gate of the base. That and the small mouth were a blast.
