2021 09 06 Nickajack TN river

out on the river monday after taking care of family bizness the first part.  day was clear.  winds were gentle to non-existent and TVA was running current at 45000 cfs.  good eddies, seams were set up.  water clarity was very stained to lightly stained.  most fish found near wood, under overhanging trees.
water temps have cooled from last week (85°F) and were running 79.6°F.  I put in at Raccoon mountain ramp and worked upstream a little short of Baylor, then back down.

best bait of day was soft plastic t-rigged.  green pumpkins primarily. with all the boat traffic (big yachts that OUGHT to stay on the ocean for Pete's sake already!) and heavy wakes, the shoreline was pretty muddy.  most fish were suspended to avoid the pounding, but right outside the water color change.
we are just staring what I think will be fall transition.  some fairly heavy fog patches showing up with cooler air and temperature inversions.  so fish should be on the move shortly.

Awesome photo, when the fog is like this a lake looks very majestic to me... We have a ton of boat traffic here as well but thankfully a big one is a 25 foot ski boat, no Yachts

majestic is a great word mike.  agreed.
love it when the mist is 'flowing down to the lake' in the cuts.  I imagine, like me, these are the days you love most to be out there...
