Hi!

I´m new on this forum. Just bought me a Tracker ProTeam 195 TXW. I´m now about to build up my boat. I have a question for you. Which (Dek-it) mount would suit my boat better? I can choose between these two. I will mount a Garmin Echomap Ultra 122 sv.

Best regards, Gregor

Dale, they may set these boats up different in Sweden.

@grebe608, welcome to UB. What fish do you fish for in Sweden?

grebe608

Hi

I mainly fish for perch. Running a small fishing team competing in swedish perch leauge. We do some pike competitions too.

Yes they offer them a bit different here. You could have a choice of different engine, fishfinder, trailer and TM. They usually don´t come with that package as you get. US trailers usually are very difficult to get legal. Hence this kind of trailer. I also think our ramps are usually more simple and rough than yours, and a trailer where you winch down the boat might do better with short steep ramps. This boat was kind of a demo boat, sitting att the dealer and they used it a few times, it got 27 hours. So they equipped it with a Evinrude. Not my choice. I´m sure it will run the boat good. Engine specs looks impressive to me.
Just collected it, and now it is ice on the lakes. So I have not had the opportunity to run it yet. Boat also come with Motorguide xi5 24v. No fishfinders. They kept them. Which is good, as I already have a 12´and 9´ garmin echomap.

I think I will make a thread here documenting my build up, installing electronics etc.

Me with a perch this fall:

Hi! Welcome to the site!

For your tracker do they already have the trolling motor installed in a recessed tray? For my PT 190 TX I had to do that myself.
Otherwise as to what mount I would think the flatter one would work best. The angled one might dig into/hit your foot while it's on the trolling motor pedal. Maybe not, might set it up there and it's fine.

Cool stuff, and a great fish. I really get into the international aspect of fishin' no matter the species. And you'll love those Garmins. Now, as to the original question- ?

Trollingmotor was mounted by dealer, fixed directly to hull/bow. I know there is trays so you easily can take it off, had it on previous boat.

I hoped someone here had this boat with this Dek-it mount, and could post a picture. I'm leaning towards the angeled one. If you angel it towards the bow, it would in theory allow more space over tm footpedal. I guess I just go ahead and order one. Worst case scenario I have to send it back.

I would lean towards more room around the foot pedal for everything.  Space in that area is always at a premium, especially in the heat of a tournament.

Cool pic of the Perch.  Ours don't get that big in Florida.

And welcome to UB.

Welcome to the site Gregor!!! Nice looking rig you have!!! Nice fish, our's don't get that big, 10 inches is a good fish, it's possible to get into 12/13 inches in the great lakes. What are your favorite techniques? Mine is dropshot.

That Perch was 46 cm, and maybe 1,3kg. A good fish but not very uncommon. I really lika fishing crank baits, that a old Zalt would be favorite that day was maybe a surprise. But I fish a lot with spinners (deracoup) ordinary jiggs, ned, texas, and dropshot.

And yes, space around footpedal seems like a priority, i will go for a angled mount.

We have fall and spring runs here, most use live minnows, a buddy I fish with and I use soft plastics, with the perch here if you are on them they will hit anything small enough to fit in their mouth. We have a 50 fish limit, while they don't put up a big fihgt they are still fun.

We only fish C&R. Most do. Fish stocks have been severly depleted in our arcipelago last few years. It is a combination of industrial trawler who clean everyting including all herring (biggest food source for perch and pike), seals, comorants and minnows who eat their eggs. In the lakes fishing is better.

It actually surprises me that som many in US post big catches of crappies etc. on social media. If someone here post a picture of a killed fish, there will be a shitstorm... Some grandmother just posted a picture of a 8kg pike she killed, proudly. In one evening she had 400 angry comments. She obvioulsy didn´t know the current culture.

Most states have started to manage the catches of "panfish" and it's working stocks are rebounding. Most of these fish are caught for food and make fine meals.
