Kate and I went to Camp Far West on Monday and the bite was on!  No real big fish, but the action was great.  Water temp was 78-80.  It has a nice stain with about 2-3 feet visibility.  Air is a bit smoky from the wild fires, we have come to call it "smoker-cast" vs overcast.  But it has a similar effect to clouds and prolongs the low light time in the morning.  I started out with a Whopper Plopper 110 in the I-Know-It color and Kate threw a chrome blue rattle trap.  First stop we both immediately hooked up, a double to start the day!  That was Kate's first rattle trap fish.    That set the tone for the day as we ended up with about 60 fish.  Some were little guys but a bite and a reel-in is always fun. Kate had 20 bass and a big bluegill that bit a ned rig.  We also caught fish on a crankbait (3XD), hula grub, Keitech swimbait, and dropshot.  Best bite was on steeper main lake points with some rock.  We found one point that was just loaded.  There is lots of bait, fish were spitting it up and some times the graphs were full of it.  We quit about noon to avoid the heat.  And Kate backed the trailer again!  Life is good!
I knew I shoulda re-tied!!

Thanks for the report, I sure do miss the fun that little lake cranks out. That's a pretty good spot you got there and her brim is definitely fillet-able.

Tell Kate Congratulations on completing her training ~c~ ~c~
