little hesitant to share this, but figure 'no one wants to spend money on this stuff' so I'm relatively safe.

attached photo is of a great plastic bait that doesn't get much coverage.  looks like a solid body tube.  works best rigged backwards.  for guys like me who use long rods and fish from a seated position (old guy back issues for what it's worth), even I can 'sort of' skip this bait.

Great dock bait.  represents bluegill, crayfish extremely well.  close to a half ounce in weight.  3/0 and 4/0 EWG hooks 'fit' best.  rigged texposed.
and I am invested in 'mend-it' for plastic repair.

have a couple of great photos of fish with this bait.  just can't find them.
should be getting a good mayfly hatch moving right about now.  it's been cool and they've been a bit slow to this point.
skipping this under overhanging trees can be pretty fun right about now.

~shhh ~shhh ~shhh ~shhh  this bait doesn't catch bass   lo

I have caught several bass on this bait this year, as well as a lot of bass several years ago. I went a few years without fishing them and have recently started fishing them again. One of the bass in the video in this link ==> http://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-forum/index.php?topic=155027.0 was caught on an Ika.

As for hooks, I prefer this type of hook for these, they don't tear up as much as with EWGs.

just to show how versatile a bait it is (and how incredibly stubborn I can be):
have caught lots of fish out of brush piles out to 10-12 feet deep.  deepest fish I caught was a 'kicker' for a tournament years ago in 20 feet of water off a bluff point.
did someone (rodney?) put out a thread on 'slowing down'?

rigging.  up close and personal.  3/0 hook.  also fits 4/0 and some 5/0

i will typically put the point back in the bait.  lots of line under those docks and I seem to catch that crap all the time if the point isn't tucked back in.
