out for some fun Saturday after working all week up in Kansas.  with current flow limited, decided to play around up shallow.  work on my dock-skipping skills.  managed a good handful of 16 inch class fish.Big tournament going off out of Chester Frost park same time.  So lots of places were covered up for the off-shore guys.

water temps were 83°F.  water clarity was about 2 feet.  milfoil is just at the 'carpet' stage where it's a few inches up and covering the lake floor.current flow was between 10k-20k cfs.  some.  but not great.

Conditions were sunny to start day and then partly cloudy as day went on.  about 2PM a good rain squall rolled through (upper reaches of the tropical storm this past week).  as I was headed back to ramp, saw the 'white-out' conditions and ducked into a small cove, tied up the boat and sat out the rain (once again:  raingear seems to work BEST when it's not still in the truck)
wind was in single digits.  in this part of the world, it 'gets up' when it rains and there were some good gusts later in the day with the squalls.

pleasure boaters and jetskiers were out in force.  running back to the cove to load up had to fight through the 'checkerboard' wake patterns.  gave the kidneys a bit of a workout.

Thank you for the report. A bunch of sixteen in bass is a whole lot of fun to catch ~c~ ~c~

but losin' ground to you and Mr. Verts can get me a little grumpy.

;D
day spent working on picking out backlashes as I was focused on  skipping.  maybe that had more to do with 'gettin my grump on' than the size of the fish.

still, an interesting and very challenging day with a few fish swung over the sides.

Dock pitching is definitely an art. I prefer to side arm any time I can but there are times when a pitch is a must. A good quite pitch is so satisfying but also disappointing when you don't get paid with a bite  :surrender:
