The thread on favorite buzzbaits got me to thinking about this. I waited to see if anyone would mention them in the other thread but they didn't come up so I decided to ask here.

So, does anyone else but me still throw these?

If so what is your favorite (size, color etc)? Where and when do you throw them? Gear used?

Before i mention mine i'd like to hear from others, so have at it fellow anglers.   ~fff ~fff ~cf

I did throw 30 years ago, but they were a magnet for gar and we have lots of gar in the shallows flats down here.  They are hard to find on the shelves these days, I have looked.  Loved a mixed white / chartreuse skirt.

Thanks big g. Yeah they are scarce. I like them around grass. The weedless ones are actually pretty good at keeping from getting hung up.

While they definitely had their advantaged in thick cover, I decided a couple of years ago (about 1983) that I didn't like them as much. I think the only one I threw was the Uncle Bucks. You had to crank it pretty quick to keep it on top- when they ate it, they ATE it.

I'm not familiar with in-line buzzers ?  Can someone elaborate on this or post a pic.

I agree, I only used the weed less ones, even harder to find on the shelves!

This is the "fixed wire" type

The ones I actually preferred had the blade attached directly to the head and the head moved like on the modern wobble-head jigs.

I can't get to my box of buzzers at the moment or i'd post a pic of one of the only 2 or 3 I have left.  :(

OK , Somehow I don't think I've ever seen one . Of course I could have and forgot about , that wouldn't be a surprise .
In any event I like the way it looks.

Thanks Smallie_Stalker

I still fish with a Fred Arbogast Sputterbuzz. I've got some old Sputterbugs and Sputterbuzz in my collection.

I used to see these listed as 'snagless sally's'.  basspro used to offer an inline buzzbait in the xps line (that is my favorite regular buzzbait just sayin')

I've got a few old ones that still catch fish. I'll share a few more pics when I get home next week.
