Launched from the state park ramps at 0545. It was a cool morning following some late afternoon thundershowers the previous day. The day started out clear and cool with clouds building as the day got warmer. Water was stained and surface temps stayed around 74-75 in most parts of the lake and the water was fairly free of the usual debris. Topwater baits got smacked before first light, but they wouldn't take one. After first light there was a pause in the action then, it became a stick bait day, the 5" Xzone True Sticks and the GY 5" Senkos were tied by the time I came of the water. 5 Bass (F1 and Spot) and at least 5 largemouth Bluegill kept the day from becoming a typical Claytor day. I fished a 2/0 hook the entire day and without fail, just about every spot I stopped had at least one Bluegill that successful at getting that hook set in it's mouth. There was no size to any of the bass with largest maybe close to 2 pounds and all of them caught just inside the mouths of coves, shaded by cover.

I've been slacking in the report department.  lo

By the time I think to do it, it's old news. I need a lot water time these next few months.
