Now that the NJ Bass Fishing Spawn period has begun, welcome to round#4 of the SJHT 2021 season where 16 members came out to battle for Bigguns down in the always friendly and inviting LUMS SP down in Bear, DE.

Anglers were very much looking forward to Saturday's event.  Some even beating me to the ramp.  LOL.  All I have to say is timing could be everything.... I'll explain a bit later.
Without further adieu, please give a big congrats to the known assassin 1st place winner Jackson *The Assassin* Fu for weighing in 3 Bass going 8.17lbs. Fu had a 3.06lb Lunker but that didn't take overall overall. 2nd Place was won by Mike *Never to be counted out* White with 3 Bass going 7.94lbs.   3rd Place was won by Tom *Always near the Top* Greene with 3 Bass going 6.26lbs.Overall Lunker was won by the *The Boogey Man* Mike Del Monico going 3.74lbs.
Misc. was won by Dan *Crappie Jon* Fitzpatrick with a Huge Hybrid Striper that could not fit in his Livewell but was video recorded and pics were taken.  Weight was unrecorded

My decent crappie for the day:

Summary:  LUMS SP seems to always supply the most beautiful, healthiest bass, and other speciies known in our Delaware Valley area.  Whether gigantic CatFish (see last years report), Big Crappie, Huge Hybrid Bass, or simply Largemouth Bass, the proof is in the pudding.

Earlier mentioned....."Timing can be everything".... Sometimes the bite becomes more active when the sun rises over specific points, ledges, tree lines, and depths than others.  Stable weather patterns\changes also play a role.  Typically fishing Lums  SP or really any other bodies of water produces good results when the above aligns.  Those anglers which caught there limits and lost decent Bass I believe can all agree that there strategies and past experience along with timing helped in bringing there bags to the scales.  Sometimes....it can be a matter of a week or 2 for things to heat up and hit that sweet spot.

Judging by the Tale of the Tape, everyone caught at least 1 Bass.  The avg. weight per fish was 1.72lbs.  A little on the light side but with a cold front that came in 2 days prior, I was expecting the water temps to be in the low to Mid 60's.   I figure in another 2 weeks LUMS SP should be on fire with stable weather weather conditions and no big temperature swings.

In All, all 16 out of 16 SJHT Anglers caught at least 1 Bass.   There were 32 Bass caught overall. LUMS SP Bass gave way to total of 55.15lbs caught overall.
5 Anglers caught there 3 Bass Limit.  Another great turnout in spite of the initial chilly and breezy temp start.

Congrats to  the Fu Man, Mike White, Tom G., Mike Del Moniico, and Dan the Man on your performanaces.

Next up is NORTH EAST RIVER, MD Anchor Marine  in 2.5 weeks.

Tightlines,

Yeah man...some healthy looking fish right there.

You do an amazing job documenting the tournament. Getting all the photos is a difficult task that I always fail at...

Thank you for doing this and congrats to your fisherman on some stud catches...

Thanks Mike.  Greatly appreciated.

I do it for the love of the sport and to hopefully help that up and coming angler apply some of the nuggets along with tips, techniques, weather conditions to there day on the water.

A day on the water always presents new challenges and adventures.....hence last years June report from this same body of water and notes taken and understood.
