First trip out in a boat in April didn't pan out like we expected. High water, muddy, blue bird skies and a stiff west wind greeted us on the upper end of Guntersville today. We were targeting bedding fish, but as you can see in this pic the "targeting" idea was null and void with the water color today. My boater managed a 3.9 lb chunk along with 2 other fish. My lone fish came off of an 20 year old double colorado bladed spinnerbait. With as much rain as we have had lately I doubt the water will ever get back to its TN River green stain...

The only weekend I got to fish Guntersville gave me a taste and I can't wait to try it again. Looking forward to more reports from your way.

First time out in a boat and fishing longer than a couple hours in years. I miss the river so much.
