IBass Gold is the real deal

As most on here already know, UB has been running the IBass online tournament for several years with great success and fun along the way. Bragging rights was the prize at the end of the year, but in 2020, UB, Bassinlou, along with several others, introduced the all new IBass Gold (IBG) series.

Basically it was the same online tournament format as IBass but with an extra twist by adding top quality prizes for the AOY in both zones. The 2020 AOY prize was a Dobyn's Sierra rod of the winners choosing, which was announced at the beginning of the season and was an awesome "dangling carrot" in front of all the participants.

The only caveat to IBass Gold is that you have to be a Life or Charter Member of UB (<==click) to enter.

There was a bunch of top anglers signed up for the 2020 IBG season back in the spring, but due to the ole COVID thing, IBG start up was delayed one month until June, but once started all the participants were in the hunt for the Dobyn's rod and competition was tight right up until heading into the last month of October.

Unfortunately, there could only be two winners (one from Zone 1 and one from Zone 2), but luckily for me, I managed to pull off the AOY win for Zone 2 and Mike Cork won AOY for Zone 1 (congrats Mike  ).

The season ended on 31st October and I figured out which Dobyn's rod to choose. Within a few weeks my prize was waiting for me on my doorstep in one piece (which is always a worry when shipping a LONG tube over the pond) and will be put straight to use this coming weekend.

The intent of this thread is to give a huge thanks to UB.com, Mike, Lou and Dobyn's Rods (<==click) for making this happen. I had a blast this year competing and BSing with all you guys and I am already looking forward to next year's IBG

I started work again earlier this month and I've only been fishing once since

Congrats again BK, and nice post as well. I 2nd your sentiments regarding the tournament and encourage more to join it next year
