So I fished my last state TBF event a couple of weeks ago and had never caught a bass on a plopper before that. I had found this sweet pattern where bass were pushing alewives onto rocky banks and could not get them to eat any other topwater in practice. So I decided to tie on a whopper plopper (the 130 size, only size I have) and see what happens. The first and only cast I made with it, I caught one. Fast forward to the tournament day, I pulled up that spot first and had 5 bass in my first 6 casts and still caught them or got a bite on every cast for about 30 minutes. ALL ON THE PLOPPER! I never even moved the boat. Then when that died down, I caught them on a jerkbait and squarebill. Then when that died down, it was back to catching them on the plopper. All this took place within about 2 hours. It was a total blast! Anyhow, the video is below. In an effort to keep it at a reasonable length, I had to cut out a ton of fish catches. I think it still came out alright though. Hope you guys like it!

He actually won the co angler side with 14 something pounds! Christian is a 20 year old that has a fair amount of pond fishing experience but is pretty new to bass fishing on bigger bodies of water. As far as competitive fishing goes, this was his first tournament. He did great! He asked questions all day, which is something I personally love. I love teaching folks to catch bass almost as much I love catching them myself. We spent about an hour just talking about spawning bass! He would ask good questions too. Like why would they eat crankbait but not a ned rig. Or asking why the bass or baitfish were even here. If he keeps asking the right questions, he's going to be a stick for sure!

Nice job Steve!! I may need to come up there. I have yet to catch a bass on a plopper. Probably because I make about 3 casts and put it back in the box... ~b~

Great video and my favorite topwater also. It just seems to catch them when nothing else is working.
