I got out 3 days in a row this week.
Last week the river was in a muddy mess and strong current from the rains, but the water has settled down quite a lot. Still a little stained, but the current has dropped. However, the water level is down about 1 foot.
Now the water temps are up over 80*, the algae growth has started and the river surface is GREEN. The bass don't seem to mind, I have been catching decent numbers of bass on frogs in 1 to 3 foot of water in and around grass.
My observations this week, I was seeing a lot of swallows taking dragon flies near the water surface, so I assumed the bass were also eating the dragon flies either as they were emerging or as they were dropping the eggs.

No big bass landed this week, but they are still in the area as I missed or lost a few in the grass  ~b~

Air temps = Low to mid 80's
Water temps = 81*
Sunny/partly cloudy

Thanks for the report BK....

Frog fishing and losing them in the grass go hand in hand, it's what makes you go back for more :-*

With all the froggin' I am doing, I think I need to invest in a better froggin' set-up. The rod I am using is only a 7' rod and the reel is an old red Shimano with a very short handle and low gear ratio. With a better set-up I should be able to get more of these bass out of the grass.
