First time on the lake but enjoyed what was a slow day. The lake is full of grass.
We started on the west shore just north of an Island. We got bit on frogs and buzzbaits 6 times and landed 2.
We then moved near the causeway and had no bites.
We went north of the causeway all the way to the southern end of an island. We found some cheese and punched a few bites only landing one. The wind picked up severely soon after finding them, and boat control was no longer an option.

We moved to the eastern part of the southern end and had one bite on a buzzbait.

Talked to guys in a tourney and most reported even slower days than us.

Mosquito was a very interesting lake. I'm glad Zippy was willing to take me out. I'd love to go back again with a full arsenal of gear to properly punch the cheesy pads.

Appreciate the report Zippy, thank you for sharing.

Question: What techniques did you guys use to fish inside that healthy looking vegetation?

Did you guys frog that?

The whole lake looked like that. The one fishballer caught was on a frog and the last two pics were where we punched.
We pretty much started with a frog and buzzbait where we could and punched the really thick stuff.

I hate it when the cover looks fantastic and screams for certain technique and the bass made other plans.  ~xyz  Thank you for answering the question Zip.  ~beer~

I too have fished Mosquito Lake.  Remember fishing the camp ground area on the western side.  When in college at KSU, I fished any body of water I could find in East Ohio.  Thanks for the report! ~c~

Two friends of mine fish there all the time, I have seen some hogs they have pulled out of that vegetation!
