My number one tip is 2 fold for an age old problem, stuck on the water!

A small set of jumper cables and the very compact jump box.

Jumper cables in case someone comes to your aid, and you can use them on your trolling motor battery battery to going.

The small jumper pack, small enough to carry with one hand can recharge your phone, provide a flashlight with a SOS function and the best part is it's there when you head back to the landing and and find the lights on and the truck battery dead.

Two objects that pretty much guarantee the boat AND the tow vehicle get you back home.

Thanks!

If you have ever tried to cut a hook with standard side cutters you probably have found it to be a very tough if not impossible task.  This is especially true for those who use larger more stout hooks.

My tip is to acquire a part of compound action side cutters.  If you need to cut a hook they will do it.  Especially helpfull when one of those are stuck deep into your hand.

Bud you got a picture of a pair of these cutters?  I'd for sure be interested in see it and if possible purchasing a set or two of them.

Donald, here is a link to an Amazon page.  These things are available at most any store that sells tools.

I have a small set of bolt cutters, about the size of robo grips. Get a set rated for 1/4 bolts. I bought them for the inevitable. I've been impaled twice, and the bolt cutters I have are easily used with one hand. I hardly felt them cut the hook. Next to no pressure needed.

Tekton brand on Amazon for  $12.00. Best money ever spent.

I had a 2lb spotted bass impale me and he was flopping while dangling from the treble hook in my fingers. I was close to blacking out and the cutters saved me. Now they are the first thing placed on deck.

I have two simple tips, one has to do with fishing, one has to do with life:

Tip #1: ALWAYS check that your drain plug is in your boat before launching...you would be amazed how fast your boat can fill with water if you don't...lol.

Tip #2: this has to do with the current situation in life that is facing all of us, the Coronavirus. You know all of the safety precautions that the government has out there and all of the quarantine mandates that seem to be popping up each day. My tip is this, don't view this as a negative even though it's easy to do...view it as a positive! Use this time to reconnect with your family. Too much of our daily lives are spent on the go and when we are home it seems each of us are consumed with social media and barely have time for one another...it's really sad. So my second tip is don't panic, use this time to return the focus to family!!!

God Bless everyone and stay safe!!!
The only stupid question is the one you don't ask!

No matter how much we know about fishing there is always more to learn!
