Mercury 60HP Oil Cap

With the motor trimmed up and on the transom saver, the oil cap on the motor leaks, I keep paper towels in my truck to clean it up prior to backing in the water but this is a PITA< so is this a common problem, will a new cap fix the problem ?

I would have to say that cap is cracked or the tank it's self inside the cap connection. Leaking shouldn't happen. So if you can find the crank and replace the correct part it will stop.
