Hi guys - fished Lake Arthur Porters Cove on my Yak Saturday morning 7:30am till about 1:30pm.
It Rained pretty decent off and on most of the morning till about 11am.

Equipment:  Perception Pilot 12.0 YAK.

Worked Chatter Baits near the lilly lines catching smaller bass - worked my way around the cove with some action.
Got to the deeper end heading towards the bridge and locked up on a big lady.
Note her tail being slightly sore - she was probably on her bed keeping it clean of debris.
Sadly did not have anything to measure on me but easily a bucket mouth / Personal Best for me.
She took a 3 inch Rapala Husky Jerk blue back shinner.  https://www.rapala.com/rapala/lures/husky-jerk-series/husky-jerk/Husky+Jerk.html

It was an incredible fight and typically these fish spit the bait and we have a fish story on our hands...
I am happy to say I landed her.
She didnt' fit in my kayak net so that was fun trying to get her in it - after failed attempts, I lipped her.

Lake Arthur is a big lake - Lots of great areas to fish.

Hey guys - I wanted to circle back on this post from back in May.
I use the Anglr Bullseye (https://anglr.com/bullseye/) to track wayPoints, catches and data about whats going on when I am fishing.
The data you post is all private unless you decide to share.  My hardest part is to remember to "start my trip" and push the button after a catch :P

Anyway I wanted to share the data specifically about this catch. All morning it was raining and I was catching small bass but nothing crazy.  Consistent action minus the terrible conditions.
As mentioned above.. the weather front cleared and not to long after it did, I caught that big bass.
Going back and looking at the Anglr App details - Notice the SPIKE in the Barometer right when I caught her in the attached picture (second one). I caught it at abour 11am.

I thought it was interesting data point.

Cool info. Now if we could all know exactly when those spikes will happen.

We've hit the lake both this weekend and last and had fairly successful days, with a mixed bag of species each day, using various techniques.

I primarily used Ned rig setups and caught both LM and SM, from dinks up to just shy of 2lbs. More interesting, though, were the channel cats (3 of them) that I caught on the Ned rig. 😳

My wife and son mainly used fatheads and red worms and caught also caught LM and SM, as well as a zillion bluegill, some nice yellow perch (including a legit jumbo), and a bunch of crappie, with a couple of dinner plate-sized fish caught.

We were all over the lake, with the only place that we did NOT catch fish being Porter's cove.

We love the lake and usually do pretty well. Can't wait for the next trip out. 😏

That lake is full of fish. Lots of cats in it.
Glad you had a good time catching.

How do you rig up your ned rigs?
I don't fish with them often but I have some in my tackle.

I use the 1/20oz jighead, barely skinhook the worm, then twist it around and bury the hook, making it weedless (Texas rig, basically). The weedless hooks are junk, IMO.

The lighter jigs seem to give the best action on the fall, but sometimes I'll go heavier, just to get the bait down (like when fishing around the bridge pilings when the current was swift).

I love the technique, it's really effective, nearly always.

I fished Arthur Friday evening and lost two big fish. Did not catch anything as I was using big fish lures and the little guys couldn't get the whole baits or wouldn't hit them.
