I have been meaning to ask this question for quite sometime, and maybe someone can provide more information. My question is about MM41 on the alley specifically. Those that fish it, we all know about infamous yellow buoys that marks the borders of the Indian Reservation. I have seen boats go past these buoys and fish inside the Indian border.

My questions are:

1. Are these boats taking a chance?

2. Or... do these boats have special permission to fish inside Indian territory?

These buoys have never made sense to me, especially since these canals basically come to an end before reaching Snake road. If any one can shed more light on this subject it would be much appreciated.

Years ago people were ticketed past the markers.  Years ago you could buy a license to fish the reservation.  The price was steep!  I don't know how often they ticket, but why push my luck.  Some going past the marker may be Native Americans, some may be just daring.  I had a neighbor twenty years ago that was a police officer and Native American and fished that area all the time.  I have not heard of anyone ticketed in the last ten years.  I just don't think the grass will be much different on the other side of the fence! :-*

I heard that the Native Americans ( must be PC you know) can confiscate your boat, tackle, etc . If they were to catch you fishing on "their" property illegally.  Don't know if true or not but not worth it so why take a chance. Don't think the fish can differentiate anyway.
I too have seen boats past the buoy but that's on them. Or they could have a license or be a native.

I ventured past the buoys once I was really nervous about it so it's not worth it to me, but right before
buoys I lost a pig and talked to some guys coming out of there said they got some serious weight .
