I went to Garcia myself. I wasnt quite as successful as Lou and Rick.
I started fishing the hard hydrilla edge along the deep (6 to 8 ft) water with spooks and frogs and chatterbaits but no takers. By 8 am I had to punch the beautiful hyacinth where I found it along that edge too. It wasn't too long before I punched, lifted twice, and a bass went, knock, knock. Set the hook and heaved out this 4 lb'er.
I was thrilled to think there would be a punching bite as it's my fav. I stayed at it.
As I was going along one side of one of the thin islands I can hear 2 guys on the other side talking after catching a fish.... Rick and Lou.
I headed toward where I caught my 6lb last month only to find it sprayed dead!!!  I spent too much time around cloudy water moved back towards deeper, cleaner, but only got 1 small bass.
Ran around without much luck. Ran up the canal and caught 5 - 12" to 14" on spinnerbait as a breeze came up. And 2 on a uvibe along mat edges of no size either.
I did have company for a while, he wasnt the least bothered by me.
Gave the mats another go, then gave up and went home.
I did get an upgrade in my 5 so it wasnt a complete waste.

Appreciate the report R&B. Those bass sure made us work on Wednesday. These high pressure systems this time of year sends our bass into hunker down mode. Incredible. But... you did stick a nice bass to maintain your lead in the FLBRC ;). I'm swinging for the fences today!!  8)

Congrats on the up-grade.  That's a long hard day of fishing, but you always know there is a big one somewhere in close proximity.  Hell of an effort on your part.  I know you will be back north soon, but comforting to know they are predicting snow again for parts of the north country.   :-*  Congrats my friend!

Thanks G.
Yes my wife said she had trace snow on the ground today. It better be gone by next week!  Lol.
I've got two more days of FLA fishing. Gonna miss it

The most important thing is the friendships you have developed through your Florida fishing.  We will be looking for your return next season!  Safe trip my friend!

Exactly.  Made lots of new friends this year and looking forward to getting to fish with all of you next season.
