AirFlo Rods...

Has anyone here tried any AirFlo rods from UK???

From what I can tell on their website they only make fly rods, and not one single bass fishing rod that I can find.

Recently a friend of mine steered into my hands a phenomenal rod I am trying to find out more about it.

Mine is a custom bass fishing rod made out of a portion of one of the AirFlo Nan-tec Journeyman series of rod blanks, which according to the website are 7 piece sectional fly rods.

My rod is a 6' 10" pencil sized single rod blank, just how I like them!

So I am curious about the source of this rod blank since on their website all the journeyman rods are sectional and this one is not.

So once again I have to make some assumptions and could be wrong, but it appears this blank was purchased from AirFlo directly or, some how made its way outside the company before blanks were cut into sections, because again, from their website, I can find no mention of selling rod blanks. Only finished rods are for sale on their website.

Then the unknown custom rod builder must have cut this 6' 10" section out of a longer fly rod, possibly 9' or longer. And his choice of blank section was closer to the tip rather than the butt which is perfect for my way of fishing swimbaits in open water. It is killer!

This is one beautiful rod with exceptional qualities reminding me of the other rod I own that I have been researching this past year learning who made it, where, and when. I am trying to find more to buy of that rod, and then this really strange one-of-a-kind rod slides into my hands and I could not let it go.

This rod is easily moving in to a top slot in my rod collection.

An amazing swimbait rod! I am considering stripping off the guides and putting them back on the rod in a spiral wrap design. So it will be a custom custom rod.

This is a rod I will never let go of! Its that good!

So I'm sharing the love in this thread... we have another blank choice to up our game, or at least our enjoyment of it!

Who ever came up with the idea to cut this rod out of a fly rod, my hat is off to you! Now I want more! It's an addiction.

i don't know, man. You're using that Yankee fly rod stuff...I picked up some spinning gear...It's getting awfully cold in hell this weekend.

Did you get yourself one of those starter reels with the trigger? 

His first spinning rod and reel in what 40 years?   

I guess he is finally figuring out those spinning rods and reels can maybe get his casts to a few more fish those baitcast reels can't reach! Ha! Getting desperate are we???
