Martin and I fished 27 up near the Holy Lands. We got to the ramp and fished right off the launch. Starting in the pool, then off to troll in and out of the fingers.

I started by throwing a buzzbait. Didnt get any takers on it, and from there I jumped into the frog. The bites came immediately with the Pad Crusher JR. They were wanting it extremely slow and lazy, but they were hitting, and thats all that mattered. I fished the frog down one finger, then switched to popper biats and spook down the next one. The spook and popper bite was a no go, so I then switchdd to a 4 inch lizard, and picked up a few more. After playing around with them on the lizard, I went back to the frog to see if they were still interested in it, yep. They were still hammering the slow and lazy frog, so I just stayed with it and didnt bother a different approach after going back to the frog.

Martin stuck to the lizard, as he was hooking into a bunch with it, and enjoying his lighter setup with them. He and I both caught close to 30 fish combined, and lost close to a dozen as well. We had a great time, and was glad that the moon and stars finally lined up in our favor for todays trip.

Lou, im coming for you with my UL frogging setup (which you got to try, its just soo much fun!).

Dang you stuck a bunch of fish with that Pad Crusher JR! Nice work!
BTW the slow and lazy approach is what got me into the game late yesterday. Letting it sit for a moment, then a twitch here and there.

Great Outing.

I wonder about one thing though, you are calling this UL fishing but aren't you using a MH Rod to fish with?
Just curious as that would seem "normal" to me.

What about that set-up makes it an UL in your mind/opinion?

For frog fishing, this would be UL. Its a MH, not a H or XH. 30lb braid, not 50 or 65. Its a Booyah Pad Crusher JR, not a full size frog. Also, the rod is only 6'8.

Actually Dean Rojas, the real Frog Master (Sorry Lou) uses a MH normally.

But yeah for us down here in veggieland a MH just won't cut it normally. Works on US 27 though, the vegetation isn't too bad. Mostly sparse pads.

No need to apologize, he's a real Master. I wish I can do half the stuff he does with a frog.

Capt. BassinLou

As far as gear, I will happily stay with my PB and Citica when frogging in the Glades or Central FL  Lakes. For urban canals I will stick with a MH.
