I'm too old for this stuff. I had to look up "SI" and "DI" to see what ya'll was talkin' about.

I have a brand-new Lowrance 1240A flasher, in-the-box. Think I'm gonna mount it in my console, just 'cuz I can.

OH Yeah, Sure you do.....Next thing you are gonna do is start using words like aw shucks or similar hickbilly words trying to convince us that you are just a simple country boy.  I suppose you only use dacron line on a willow stick and fish for your dinner so you don't starve.  I was born at night but not last night.

Winner for best line of the year.  lo  ~c~

I have said this before but I'll say it again. Since the units are essentially computers why not have a port where you can just hook up a computer monitor of your choice to them? You could put say a 36" screen on there and using split-screen view you'd have three separate high resolution 12" screens.

Yes it would be big, and would probably get in the way to an extent but would it be any worse than having three separate 12" units sitting there?

Hell, if you make the units touch screen with no physical buttons they could be layed horizontally and stacked in a single location out of the way and just run cables out to the various screens.

I'm sure anglers would adapt and learn to work around it. That's kind of what we do isn't it?

I'm in the same boat (pun intended). Most places I go the fish finder is only on so I know if I'm about to go into water too shallow to be going into. By the time a fish finder sees the fish I'll be so close the boat would have spooked them.

They're for more than seeing fish, they see things like rock piles, drains, ditches and other stuff on the bottom which can help you find fish.
