I went fishing on Roe Buke Lake  (05-31-06).....the last natural lake in Oklahoma got there about 6:30 am I started out throwing Lipless crankbaits but nothing was happening

I noticed small baby shad about a inch and a half long breaking the water all over the lake ...so I changed lures and started using a Tiny Torpedo... black back and sliver belly with a touch of red ....I was fishing close to saw grass and my first cast a bass blew up on it......but I missed him didn't wait for him to take the bait...I think we blew up on each other...he was huge....

threw back in the same area and this time another bass blew up on the bait and....yep ...I blew up on him...at that point I had no patience at all...after several other blew ups and no fish...I was getting a little upset with my self....5 or 6 blew ups and no bass to show for it

I cast back to the same area and this time when the bass blew up on the bait I waited for what seemed a eternity...I set the hooked on him......the bass was 14 1/2 inches long and weighed 1 1/2 pounds....

I was fishing in stained water....water temp was 73 degrees the wind was out of the ESE at 5-7 MPH.....I fished the outside edge of saw grass in about 3 ft of water .......

Way to go Topcat.I'm sure glad to see the wind die down some,as it;s been pretty harsh around the Norman area.

Barney Leonard.....the wind sure has been rough in the south east to.....I was very grateful to fish without all of that wind I like a little chop on the water....but the winds has really had an effect on the fishing the last 2 weeks.....
