After adding a garage refrigerator last year, I discovered that storing open tubes of 5200 sealant in the fridge keeps them from curing in the tube.

Years ago I developed and printed my own pictures before the digital age. Darkroom chemicals always lasted longer when stored in a fridge. So I gave thought why not try. One tube has been open for over a year and is still usable.

Good idea!!! I cut the tip with a hole the same size as a 10 penny nail and plugged it with one, works pretty well.

This is what I do.  When you store it in the fridge do you leave the tip open?

Enjoying retirement in the great Pacific Northwest.  I've turned into a fair weather angler.  Why do it today when I can do it tomorrow?

Good for all sealants and adhesives, including your superglue. We store our manufacturing sealants in a fridge at work, as per ISO/FDA protocol.

Nope, if I use the tapered nozzle, I actually leave the tapered nozzle on the tube and plug with a nail like Rodney mentioned. If it cures at all, it's only in the tip and can be pulled/picked out. Otherwise, I re-cap the tube.
