Well you did catch some nice fish last month and you did win both the Florida and the UB contest for the month didn't you. 

That's true, I get lucky from time to time. Gotta keep it going though. Consistency is going to be critical.
I am hoping to fish most days this week coming up as I have vacation.
Looking forward to tomorrow morning, going over to Loxahatchee with RChiuz! Hopefully we can find some biguns on my boat. Hope the weather cooperates.

Lip unfortunately it was not a good day. Got the boat in the water, motor started up fine, went around a bluff wall into the flats and hit the throttle a bit and the motor cut off. Happened a few times. As long as I idled I was good. But there is too much grass in this flat, a motor at idle speed gets wrapped up with grass and gets choked up.
You need to be able to reverse fast and get the grass loose. Unable to do that made the big motor pretty much useless. Winds were 20+ and I tried going against it for a moment with my 45lb thrust TM and at full speed I was barely getting anywhere. At that point decided limp back to the ramp on the big motor and call it. This was the last straw.
Time to sell. I won't put a penny more into this motor.

Dang Rick sorry to hear about your motor and you going to start looking for a new motor or one that has been redone? at least you can fish from the bank till you get one.

I'll be putting the entire boat up for sale very soon. I am going to continue to save up and hopefully next year be able to get something new with warranty.

That's a smart move and as long as you can fish from the bank and hook up with fellow members with a boat to go fishing you will be ok.
