Learn More About Small Game Hunting, Free Seminar

Target locally sourced grouse or rabbit for your table


RANDOLPH, Vt – Interested in cooking up locally sourced grouse, squirrel or rabbit in your kitchen this fall? Vermont Fish and Wildlife will be holding a "Small Game Hunting with Dogs" seminar focusing on bird, rabbit and squirrel hunting.

The seminar will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Randolph Fish & Game Club in Randolph, VT.

Tom Jones of the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department will lead the seminar off with a workshop on hunting rabbits with beagles. Then John Hayes of Kirby Mountain Kennels will lead a session on hunting birds with dogs, with assistance from Mike Blondin of Short Tailed Kennels in Barre.

"This seminar will include everything you need to know to get started hunting small game with dogs, but experienced hunters also stand to benefit from this seminar" said John Pellegrini, hunter education training coordinator with Vermont Fish & Wildlife. "This is a great group of instructors, and the day will be very hands on. Our very knowledgeable group of instructors will continue to assist participants going forward after the seminar."

The seminar is free and includes lunch. Sign up by Wednesday, June 13 at vtfishandwildlife.com . Space is limited to the first 40 signups and seminars fill up quickly, so sign up as early as possible.
