Hey all, quick question.

Can I use a silicon based lubricant for my reels? I know there are specialty type stuff, but I would prefer to use what I have lol

Thoughts?

I wouldnt. They seem to be too tacky. Better with a regular oil.
My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

Quatum Hot Sauce, Ardent Reel Butter, they're others but those 2 can be picked up at most tackle stores.
They are expensive but when you see how little you need they'll last a long time. Only 1 drop per bearing is needed. 3 in 1 is heavy compared to what you want in a reel, it'll cost you distance on your casts and won't protect as much as the oils made for reels. There are spots where you don't use oil, you                     use grease, if and when you have questions ask them, there are some very knowledgeable reel guys here and they are more than willing to help.
