I haven't heard much conversation about the Diawa SS SV.  It has some great features and I'm considering this model. Can anyone comment on this model  and or share an opinion ?

SS SV is a nice little reel. The braking profile is pretty strong on that reel. Mostly due to the wider inductor on the SV spool for that reel. It makes for a great skipping reel though with that spool. Most would call them a budget Steez. Easily capable of modding the reel to make it smoother and cast better.

My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

I have no experience but remember vaguely hearing that some people were disappointed with it. With the SV spool I think it'd have to be pretty terrible not to be good though!

To get an SV spooled reel for under two hundred bucks isn't bad.  I'm certainly not disappointed. I'll add some bearings as LMG mentioned.
