A friend of mine back in MD posted a pic of some bucktail jigs on another forum, stating he could use some of them to target Perch & Crappies. So, I offered to make them for him. They turned out pretty good I think.

1/32 oz molded on a #4 gold Aberdeen hook. Powder painted orange head, and I varied the tying threads that I used to get some contrast. 10 white, 7 yellow, and 3 fl. yellow bucktail jigs, plus 5 tied with Arctic Fox fur, 3 white & 2 yellow. The bucktail jigs are about 2" long, the Fox fur jigs are about 1 1/2" long. Most of them have several strands of Polar Flash in them as well.

Those look good man. I've used the cheap feathered yellow and white hair jigs on crappie for years. They look nothing like those. Good job

Thanks guys! I actually favor feather jigs when they're that small, or finer hair like the fox fur. But, that's what my friend wanted so bucktail it was! I tossed the fox fur jigs in so he could try them.  :)

Lip, & anyone else, just say the word, I would be honored to fix you up with some jigs!  ;D

Jim, those look good!! I have a tough time tying jigs that small with my unintentional tremors. Never got to fox hair, I would have liked to. Larger bucktails are about it for hair jigs for me.
