Bank Fishing Tip

Here's a really basic bank fishing tip that really helped my fishing this year. I got a $15 pair of rubber mud boots from WalMart. Wearing them while fishing let me get to a bunch of spots that I couldn't before. I didn't even wade a lot- they're not high enough for much wading, but they help when walking through thick mud or thorny brush or marshy areas close to the ponds I fish. In the summer when they get hot, stand in about 4" of water and you'll be cooler than if you were wearing normal shoes.
Since most of my fishing happens over 1 hour lunch breaks, being able to shed the muddy boots and put on my clean ones helps keep the office tidy as well.

Good tip...I've been doing that for years, and I even wear them when I'm boat fishing...keeps the feet dry if you have to step out on less than dry land.

Are they comfy enough to fish 4-6 hours standing? I always go for the most comfortable shoes I have just because most my fishing on the bank is a long period of time.

I've never had a problem with mine, but then, I cheat...the most important of my my bank fishing gear is a small portable folding stool, kinda like what golf tournament watchers carry.  I've attached a strap so I can carry it on my shoulder when I'm walking from place to place.  So I end up sitting a great deal of the time...helps take the load off the senior knees.

Not sure about 4-6 hours. I hardly ever have time to fish for that long in one stretch.

I wade A LOT from the bank in full chest waders.
Often that...... 'one last cast before I quit' lasts a couple of hrs. alone. 

Can't even begin to quess how many 6+ hr. days I've spent in mine.

As with anything 'shoe' related, findinding a good fit is the answer.
Bad fit, short day.
Good fit.......all day.
