Registration Opens for Free Winter Indoor Archery Programs

HOLDERNESS, N.H. -- Are you interested in trying archery for the first time?  Or maybe keeping your archery skills in tune once archery season comes to an end? This winter, the N.H. Fish and Game Department is once again offering free archery programs for both beginners and experienced archers who want to learn new skills or improve their current skills. Both programs will be held at Fish and Game's Owl Brook Hunter Education Center, located at 387 Perch Pond Road in Holderness, N.H. Registration is now open.

Each archery program will meet one night a week, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., for four consecutive weeks:

January Programs:
   * Beginner/Instructional - every Wednesday beginning January 4, 2017
   * Beginner/Instructional - every Thursday beginning January 5, 2017

February Programs:
   * Beginner/Instructional - every Wednesday beginning February 1, 2017
   * Advanced - every Thursday beginning February 2, 2017

Registration is first-come, first-served, so if you are interested, call soon. Participation will be limited to ten people in each program. You must be able to commit to attending all four weeks in order to register.

Participants in the advanced program must bring their own equipment in good working condition. Must bring a minimum of 5 arrows with either field tips or target points only; NO BROADHEADS. All equipment will be provided for the participants in the beginner programs.

"Whether you are an experienced archer looking to keep your skills sharp over the winter, or someone who just wants to give archery a try, come join the fun!" said Tom Flynn, Owl Brook Facility Manager. "This is a great opportunity to meet new friends and participate in an activity that normally takes place in the summer and fall."
