FisherMOM

I tried to sneak off and go fishing today, but it backfired.  I got a flat tire.
Now my husband will know...

here are three of the bass that I caught today.  They are all dinks... but fun nonetheless!

caught on various kinds of Texas Rigged worms, from Senkos to Gulp!

Even if you've been fishing for 3 hours
and haven't gotten anything except
poison ivy and a sunburn,
you're still better off than the worm.

MotherNature

Not bad for a days fishin'. I guess you will have to let the hubby in on the fishing trip you took. I wish I could go fishing during the day :(

I have caught many bass in my time, and these little guys were WILD!
they were rambunctious and very strong.  There coloring was dark too.
It is a very small pond, and I felt fortunate to catch the ones that I did!

Anytime you can make a pit stop and catch a couple bass it is time well spent  ;)

Still debating on which route to take. A dealer here has a couple I can try but they are nearly $400. I am gonna take off my aluminum prop sunday after our tournament and see if it can be fixed. Rich also has one he can make me a good offer on. I just hate to sink that kind of money into a s/s prop and then get rid of the boat in a couple of years.

I have a feeling though that my pocketbook will make the decision for me.

Mike Cork

BassAddict, a S/S prop will increase your resale value, just a thought...

Especially if it makes you the fastest boat in town in your class.

Just a thought bassadict69,
I had a Nitro 1999 640 that came with an aluminum prop, & went had to buy 3 new props before a got a S/S.  Yes I was hard on props but when it comes to fishing,,,,  I'm going where I think the fish are.  Now once I got me a New S/S prop I ran it for about 6 months before I took out the lower-end.  Its not that the new prop did it to me but rather what I did to the lower end with the previous 4 aluminum props.  Cost me $650.00 on top of the 250 for the S/S prop to get her back in the water.  No what I'm saying is,  If you go S/S  and have hit a few things before you may want to get your lower unit checked first/soon.  Now once I had a S/S prop I felt that the boat preformed better, maybe a bit slower on the hole shot, but turns & WOT it just seamed to track better.  Just may 2 cents, be there done that.

Fogy, I hate to say it, but I think I may have a problem with the lower unit after all. I posted about it in the Boat Ramp section.

Mike Cork

BassAddict, check your mag plug if you have damaged your lower unit some how you will have a lot of metal shavings on the magnet portion of the plug. It's a real simple check. The other thing is that you may have gotten water into the lower unit and an oil change may be in order.

Mag plug? Where is it? Or is it the plug to the lower unit fluid?

Mike Cork

It is the lower unit oil plug. There should be two an upper and a lower. They both should have magnetic tips but sometimes just he lower one does.

I'll check that out also...Thanks Mike!

Congrats FisherMom, wish I could sneeak away to do that very thing!!  I'd have to escape from a 2 year old and a 4 month old (best way is to ditch 'em with older teenage siblings) but I am looking forward to fishin at least once a month starting next January.  Went camping alone (thank you God) last month and caught tons of sunnies out of a pond. Of course the monster catfish would troll by checking out the bait (not stinky enough). Very frustrating.
I wish to fish..for as long as I live, back to the waters..my fish I would give.

MotherNature

Wow more of a woman than me...  :-[ I dont think I could go camping alone  :'( afraid of the dark ya' know  ;D no really that is quite a feat, going camping on your own. I admire women that can do things like that. You dont see many women getting out and doing things of that nature on their own...

FisherMOM

Welcome Grace and yes I am lucky to get to fish alone while they are in school.

I'd LOVE to go camping alone.
As long as I wasn't in a tent, I think I'd be scared in a tent! :( ;D

That would be hard to take 2 little ones like that fishing.
Hey, We started my youngest one fishing at 2 yrs old!
