I have done a search and cannot find any information on this boat. Dealer has one that is pristine for the year. Asking price is $10,000. Anyone ever own or know someone who has owned this boat? 2008 Starcraft 179 PRO V w/ Evinrude E-TEC 75hp. Thanks

jak,

First of all welcome to the UltimateBass Family we're glad you're here  ~c~

I didn't find a whole lot of information either.  There were several out there for sale.  If you can take it for a test ride and everything functions properly this sounds like a fairly good deal.  What shape is the trailer in?

Also, try see what similar rigs are going for, that'll give you some more info. Check craigslist and ebay for prices also.

The boat and trailer are in good shape, can't find any info on how it rides, how stable it is, etc. If I heard from a few guys that it was a decent rig I would pull the trigger. Thanks

I haven't been in one but it's a wide deep v, I have a 16 foot Tracker deep v that is a bit narrower and has decent stability and a decent ride. If you are looking for the best possible ride and stability then dig out 50,000 to 70,000 dollars and buy a 21 foot bass boat. Most aluminum deep Vs give a comfortable ride and make good fishing platforms. The one issue they have is wind, aluminum boats are not good in the wind, they can get moved around, you'll want to up grade to a 24 volt trolling motor if it doesn't have one.

Hi jak,
Doing a little searching and found the info on a 2010 Starcraft Starcaster 179 Pro which I assume is what you are talking about.  At 17.5 foot and a 7' 1" beam should be a pretty stable platform to fish from.  Personally, from what I have heard that Etec 75 should work very well.   As Rodney said, aluminum boats tend to get pushed around in the wind and/or heavy current so a big trolling motor might be a good thing to look forward to if not equipped.
I have owned an older Starcraft V hull years ago and really liked it but it would not compare to this model mod V Jon.  In my opinion this might be a really nice package.  Go to the NADA used boat page and price out what the boat has on it to make you feel a little better.  BTW, I did find one for sale in CT at A&S Boats for $9,995 on boats.com

I bought a 170tx tracker, very clean and well maintained with a four stroke, quite a bit less money too, although I am making some upgrades that are expensive.

Congrats on the new ride ~c~  When you get the chance post some pictures.
