The problem with the electrical implants is the patient's nervous system gets used to the current. You have to keep increasing the current over time. At some point you have to get the implants taken out as no further current upgrade is possible. When they come out, the pain returns at a much higher level than originally. My pain management doctor considers it as the final thing he can use for pain.

My pain doc is not very high on the implants either. He said that it works and works very well for some. Gave me a long reason why it wasn't the best option for me because I was so young yet. Plus I have to get all the current hardware removed first as it has already proved to short out across my back with currents are applied. Removing hardware is not a bad thing, in fact it could be good but right now I'm looking at more hardware.

My brother has had the implant and loved it for the first two years, now he's having to really dial it up to get relief. But he's very optimistic, he believes that technology advances will have something new before he reaches the end of the dial.   :surrender:

Mike: How do you stand up and fish or do you have to sit?  I only have a herniated disc and have to sit and fish after awhile. I can only imagine what you go through as much as you fish.

Can't sit and fish, I just grunt through it. I'm the guy you'll here yelping every few minutes because I got shocked  :surrender: By the time a day is over I'm done. I guess part of my issue is there is no relief, it's painful no matter what I'm doing so I may as well fish. I do have to kneel down a lot, but being a versatile angler I'm usually changing rods often.

i always say you can be just as sick in the boat as you can sitting at home.

I hate sit while fish but if I have to I have tall pedestal that gives me a bit more freedom of movement. We do what we need to to get out. If my shoulder gets bad enough I drop the deep crank ad pick up a jig or "C" rig or a worm, the casting still bothers me but being slower I don't have to do as much, if it gets really bad out comes the dropshot.
