I know both prop brands are made by Mercury.  What is the big difference??  Is the quality the same??  I read that the Quicksilver brand was made by Mercury so they could sell there products at non Mercury dealers.

You will find the QuickSilver props sold at retailers like West Marine,Boater World etc. The Mercury props are sold by Mercury dealers primarily.  They are made with the same quality.  Were ou looking at getting a specific prop?

Well if everything goes according to plan I will be picking up my new boat Saturday. It's a 2005 nitro 700lx with a 75hp Mercury. I'm wanting top speed since it's only a 75hp.

You asked about the two Mercury props.  I have run a bunch of their props over the years, Are you looking for a quality stainless steel prop or a quality high performance aluminum prop? Most of the quick silver and Mercury black max aluminum props are just stock with no performance advantages. Mercury does make a SpitFire performance aluminum prop but I have never run one. I have a Lowe 17.6 foot aluminum bass boat with a Merc  2 stroke 3 cylinder 75 hp outboard. I have settled on an aftermarket prop maker called turning Point Propellers.  I run an aluminum high performance model called a Hustler. It has a tuned hub and even has 3 vent holes drilled into the barrel. I choose to run aluminum only because of the dangerous  tidal water i boat in.   They do have a nice stainless model also so you may want to at least give them a look at. They have a very nice hub kit for around $50, it is similar to the Merc Flo Torque hub. The aluminum prop I run cost around $120 and performs night and day better than the Merc Black Max I took off. The ears are more aggressive and have a lot more cupping as well as have the vents to help spin up quick.  I got both a better hole shot and 4 mph better top end. Now top speed was not the main purpose I had for choosing this model prop I was looking to gain a faster more level hole shot. It comes out hard and lays over almost immediately.  My boat is wide and full of gear up front.

Out of the box, it's hard to beat a PowerTach SS prop. They have more rake then most other props. And cup already added. You can buy from them at the factory with no middle man. Call and give all your numbers. They will set you up. They have an outstanding return  policy until you find the prop that works (for you). But usually they hit a homerun the first time.

The only difference between Mercury and Quicksilver is the quicksilver doesn't stamp names in the prop. They come down the same line.

I have a PTR3 and a PTR4. No complaints. I'll run the 4 blade depending on what I'm doing. I can do 43mph with the 3 blade with a just a Yamaha 90hp on 18'x60" xpress boat. I think that's pretty good. I prefer the way my boat handles with the 4 blade but it uses too much gas so I only use it in times I'm heavily loaded.

Good combo. I run a NREB3 most of the time. Few time a year I go to a little river. That is a smallmouth factory. Then I put on a spitfire. Stern lifting is very good for skinny water👍
