Hey guys I have been looking for some decent Laminated Worm Bags with a hanging hole. I found some sites that have them but most require a large purchase of 1000 or more bags costing around 100 bucks. I don't need nearly that many, in fact I can probably get away with 50-100 for now.
One of the other places I found was lurecraft which is where I bought most my soft plastic making stuff. They charge 20 dollars for a pack of 100 plus about 10 dollars shipping.

Does anyone have any idea of good alternative zip bags that may be less expensive. Currently I am using regular sandwich zip bags but they are flimsy, they are hard to manage your baits inside because the baits kind of stick to it and they do a terrible job of keeping the bait from drying up.

Also what kind of labels are you guys using for your soft plastic bags? I tried a CD label last night on my sandwich bag and it promptly fell off.

Bearsbaits.com has laminated bags. Their 6"x4" bags are $11.50 for 100 of the,. They have other sizes too. I used to do soft plastics and got all my stuff from them. For labels, I just wrote on em with sharpies. Of course, I only mad them for myself, so the look of the bags didn't matter much to me.

Thanks for the feedback. I took a look at their bags last night and they looked reasonably priced. Just didn't know their quality. Yeah I don't mind writing on the bags, mostly will be for me. Either way I want to be able to easily see what baits are in the bags in the storage.

I use the heavy duty freezer bags with the double zip lock. I Hole punch a corner and use a metal ring to connect them all up. They are about ten bucks a hundred here. Probably cheaper down your way. Never had a problem with them. Sharpie doesn't come off either. Cheers. J.

Yeah I guess heavy freezer bags could do the trick too.

Do you guys know what the best mil is for them? For example lots of sites have 2mil, and 4 mil thickness. I guess the question is how much thicker is 2mil to your regular zip lock bags and is 4 mil overkill?

Well from what I read 2mil is slightly thicker than your regular food ziplocs.
Freezer zip locs are generally about 3mil and 4 mil bags are thicker than your freezer zip locs.

I ended up going with clearbags.com they have laminated bags for baits. The bags are  2.64 mil thickness but since they are laminated they have that bait bag feel which I would assume makes them more durable, and feel thicker than say a freezer ziplock bag.

Hey Doc do you still sell Plastisol? I went on the site and couldn't find it. I'm ready to buy some and prefer to get it from you.

Rick, Uline sells bags, but not worm bags. From what I've been told, it's a different type of plastic than regular zip bags. I bought worm bags from Lurecraft last time I bought them and just made sure I bought other stuff I needed so that the shipping cost wasn't so bad. Still cheaper than buying 1000 bags.

I don't pour any plastics, but have bought them in bulk & split them up into smaller quantities. I've used 4 ml zip bags too, which worked fine, but that type of plastic will eventually break down. Learned that the hard way with sandwich bags.  lo

The 4 ml bags will last longer, but sure if longer than worm bags. I bought some 6 ml bags once too to break down bulk hooks. Heavy stuff & costly, but sure are nice for hooks!  :)

Thanks for the info Jim, yeah I looked at Uline, they have a good selection but like you said they aren't bait bags. I wanted to make sure I was getting the laminated stuff, like all the pro bait bags come. Not just for the sake of the baits staying nice and fresh but also for storage. Those flimsy ziplock bags hold a ton more baits but turn into a big bulk mess and end up taking a ton more space in the container I am putting my baits in. I also never have the need to take a big bag of the same baits with me. I tend to pack my tackle bag with an assortment of baits. So breaking them down into nice sturdy bags is best for me.

Thanks Warrior!

I know Doc used to sell it. But the site is all changed up now. He had a great price on it too! Wish I would have bought from him the first time around, would have saved some bucks.
