Took one of my jig molds and modified it to accept spinnerbait wires.  Now my jig mold will pour jigs and spinnerbaits !!! it is now 2 molds in 1 !!!! Cant wait to fish it.  It came out great !

Cool! I've modified several of my molds for various purposes. Always better when I can get more use out of a single mold!  ;D

I love the video. Great tips. Spinners have been my goto for this season due to all of the ups and downs of the season. I'm digging those skirts and spinner colors

Hey man I did the same thing to mine. Also added a screw lock trailer keeper. If you get the wire for the 3/8oz buzz baits and the 4/0 hooks you can place it in the same groove for the spinnerbaits and make one bend and it will close. The "tag" end will fit in the spru for the 1/4 oz spot.

I have been thinking of using a mold so the guys and I can cast jigs also.  Where can a person buy a mold or molds that are reasonable to buy?

Thank you

Hey Arlin, first welcome to UB and the Tackle Box forum!

There are 3 basic mold sources for casting lead. Do It Mold Co, Hilts, and custom made.

Depending on the mold you want, check out Do It or Hilts first. Price will vary, but generally new molds are around $50 each. I've purchased quite a few of them from Ebay sellers that are used but in good shape. Most times they're less costly than buying them new. I've also bought duplicates of the same molds a few times where I wanted to keep one as is, and modify another.

Custom molds are much more costly, often at $150 or more per mold.

At the top of this forum is a "sticky" post that lists various suppliers for lure making, so that should give you some good sources.  :)

Here's a link to that sticky post: http://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-forum/index.php?topic=74393.0
