Went last night and found that the lake has changed. It's down a few feet and there is grass everywhere. I like fishing grass but this was rediculous. Some places where impossible to fish because the grass was too thick. We did end up catching 5 keepers and had quite a few more bites. All in all we had a good trip and it was good to get back out on the lake.

Yep, back from Atlanta.  Just in time to get the yard mowed before the rain set in.

Good trip - long drive.

Indian Creek is just sout of Alexandria, right out of a little town called Woodworth. There is a State Park there and it is very nice. Fishing can be tough but it is a beautiful lake.

It was good to find a thread on Indian Creek. Though the thread is 2 years old. I lived in Forest Hills, and spent many a day fishing the lake. The seeing the name brings back so many fond memories of the time I lived there and fished there. Loaded with jacks too!

The lake is located directly between Lecompte, and Forest Hills just off Insterstate 49. I'll admit that I spent more time partying on the levy than fishing but still a great place with a lot of fond memories.

Yep it has some jack fish. They caught a 14 lber, bass that is, out of it last month. It can be a tough lake to fish but man is it a beautiful one.

Hey JayPea,
I've never fished Indian Creek - but I can tell you about some good Pies at Lee's in Lecompte. We've (a group of 40 year olds have been fishing Toledo Bend for 20 years from Gonzales, LA. We would stop at Lee's - eat breakfast - order a few pies for our stay on the bend.

I was in high school when I lived there (20 years ago). The weeds were so thick in the lake that the only place I could catch fish was running a rattle trap along the wall of weeds on the edges of the boat roads between bridges. Chrome w/ blue back.

Hey guys you know anything about that lake now. I'd like to give it a shot being that i am so close to it. I used to go there with my grandparents to ski but i only fished it once, caught one fish. Anyway let me know how it is. god bless.

I only fish it once a year.  Fished Indian Creek in February.  It is not full of grass any more, most of the grass is south of the bridge north of it there is little. Can be tough fishing at times but it is a beautiful lake.

Thanks wildcat, i think i'll try it one day soon.
