We take the Family to Ocean City, Maryland a couple times a Season.  Whole Family fishes at the Inlet for Tautog and Black Sea Bass (sand fleas and green crab bait).  Sometimes we catch other things.  Granddaddy likes surf fishing off the Coast for Stripers, Bluefish, Sharks (finger mullet, cut mackeral filets, squid and other baits) and whatever else decides to do a swim by bite.  Some comes home for dinner and the rest go back in the water.  Wish yall good luck on whatever you fish for.  Kris

Kris, I haven't done any fishing in OC in a long time. My wife & I used to take our kids down there for vacations when they were young, but since they're now all grown up we tend to go to SC for vacations. I spent a good deal of time in OC as a kid too. When US RT 50 was built back in the late 60's my father worked down there doing the road paving, so we spent a couple of summers down there.

Fishing can be good if you're there at the right time. When I would go down I spent most of my fishing time on the south end jetty at the inlet, but also spent some time fishing the surf along the beaches early in the morning or late after the bathers left the beach.

Now if you want to talk about surf fishing Pferox is the man to talk with about that subject in the Saltwater forum!   ;)

Hi Jim,
I just found that you can look at responses and found this.
We go to OC the same week in October.  I usually get a day or two in surf fishing right off the beach because few are in the water if any.  I have one of those aluminum surf carts that carries my cooler, tackle box and fishing rods.  Caught shark, bluefish, rockfish and a couple of other fish out there.
One of my family's favorite things to do is fishing for Tautog in the rocks at the inlet.  I swear those fish have shoulders.

I guess I will have to check the saltwater forum out.  Thanks.  Kris
